You can choose whether to spend your time handling your daily bookkeeping or building your business or creating memories with your family. If you would rather be out living your life, then the Monthly Write-Up Service may be right for you.

We understand that proper bookkeeping and accounting is one of the most tedious tasks in running a business, yet it is one of the most important. Why? Because the three most common reasons small business fail are:

1. Lack of bookkeeping and accounting

3. Commingling of business with personal finances

Many micro or home based business owners simply lack the time, understanding or the tools to maintain proper accounting records. Fortunately, financial guidance and understanding are part of our Monthly Write-Up service.

When your business grows to a point where the quantity of transactions require a bookkeeper onsite our Controller on Call service may be right for you.

The Controller on Call service is a natural progression from the Monthly Write-Up service for a growing business.

How it works. Your bookkeeper enters the typical day-to-day transactions – checks, deposits, customer invoices, vendor invoices, and other records. We provide you:

• Management of the financial and tax accounting and reporting function.
• Accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and other management reports on a consistent basis
• Reconciliation of the general ledgers, sub-ledgers, and adjusting entries.
• Management of accounts receivable and collection.
• Management of accounts payable and vendor payments
• Inventory accounting and management
• Maintenance of the property, plant, and equipment records and capital investment reporting.
• Unlimited consultation to help you understand your financial information

A full-time controller providing these services could cost you $60,000 or more per year. The good news is most small businesses do not need a full-time controller. We provide you with these services for only a fraction of the costs.

Business Consulting Service

You may think if there is money left over at the end of each month, you’ve made a profit. However, that is not always true. Although you may be using an accounting system in your business you’re probably not trained as an accountant, or to accurately decipher the information your system provides.

As part of the Business Consulting service each month your personal Business Advisor meets with the business owner to discuss the Business Performance Report.

What is the Business Performance Report? Well, bankers love it and business owners use it to gain a better understanding of how their business is performing. The Business Performance Report consists of:

• Key Financial Data charted by month
• Condensed Historical Monthly Financial Summary
   - Balance Sheet
   - Profit & Loss (P&L)
   - Cash Flow
• Ratio Analysis
   - Liquidity/Stability Ratios
   - Profitability Ratios
    - Overall Efficiency Ratios
   - Specific Efficiency Ratios
• Ratio and Trend Analysis in Plain English
• Business Valuation – Short Form1
• Recommendations
• Action Items

How it works. You provide Ash Hutchison, CPA with the financial statements you prepare or we use the financial statements prepared as part of the Monthly Write-Up or Controller on Call services. This financial information is incorporated into the Business Performance Report. The Business Performance Report is then used as a tool during the monthly consulting meeting to understand how well the business is performing compared to prior months, where the cash went, whether the value of the business increased or decreased, accounts receivable management, etc.

If you want to pursue faster growth and bigger profits then the Business Performance Report is an excellent tool you can use to accurately decipher the information your accounting system provides and really understand what the numbers mean.
